In today's multi platform news world radio stations and television stations are watching their viewers and listeners following the trend of disappearing newspaper readers. One has to wonder if GLOBAL TV and CKNW radio went too far last month.

Nov. 18th claimed the lives of bandleaders Ted Heath and Cab Calloway, singers Dorothy Kirsten and Hal Dickenson (The Modernaires), composer Cy Coleman and actor Harold J. Stone. That’s right. Six percent. According to a survey by the American Press Institute in cooperation with the Associated Press, a mere six percent of Americans trust the mainstream/corporate media.

All in all, cable, IPTV and satellite TV services had 11.2 million subscribers in 2015, a 1.4 per cent decrease from 2014's level. Within that, cable is still the most common of TV services, with 60 per cent of customers. But that ratio is shrinking: in 2011, it was 69 per cent.
