Peart died on January 7 in Santa Monica, California after a years-long battle with brain cancer.

On 77 Sunset Strip, Kookie parked cars at Dino's Lodge, a Hollywood nightclub owned by Dean Martin, which was next door to the private detective agency run by suave characters played by Efrem Zimbalist Jr. and Roger Smith.
Buck Henry, comedy icon beloved for ‘Get Smart’ & 10 time...
He won a Primetime Emmy Award for writing the “Ship of Spies” episodes of “Get Smart.' The writer memorably hosted “Saturday Night Live” a then-record 10 times.
FRIDAY in Broadcast History .. Jan. 10th
NBC-TV aired the pilot for a US version of a hit BBC satirical news show, ‘That Was the Week that Was,’ with David Frost hosting as he had in the UK. It quickly became a weekly series.
Canada’s comedy team Wayne & Schuster guest-hosted on CBS-TV’s ‘Ed Sullivan Show’ and performed a Professor Von Gartner skit.
The ethnic radio soap opera, ‘The Goldbergs,’ for 20 years a hit daytime strip, became a 30-minute weekly primetime TV show on CBS.
And the first-ever episode of ‘Masterpiece Theatre’ aired on PBS, with Alistair Cooke (pictured) as on-screen host.

Terry Shepherd Retires as GM of Vista Cariboo cluster
Shepherd retired after 49 years in broadcasting, most recently as Cariboo General Manager at Vista Radio. Earlier he managed the sale of the Cariboo radio outlets to Vista.
