WABC’s Curtis Sliwa Wins Republican Nod For Mayor Of New York City

Veteran radio host Curtis Sliwa has handily won the Republican Primary in New York City’s mayoral race. The Guardian Angels founder, on leave from his program at Red Apple Media talk WABC New York, handily defeated rival Fernando Mateo with 68.8% of the vote, compared to Mateo’s 27%. Sliwa’s award-winning 31-year career in talk radio has made him a household name in New York.
