Seattle-Tacoma: Movin’ And Groovin’

The 6+ demo had a lot of moving parts (see what we did there …).  HUBBARD Top 40/M KQMV (MOVIN) was #1 for the third straight survey but lost a chunk of share (7.8-6.4).  This allowed two #2 stations to creep closer to the lead.  UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON N/T KUOW took a small step forward with its best showing since MAY (5.4-5.9) while BONNEVILLE Talk KIRO-F moved up from #6 with its best performance since NOVEMBER (5.1-5.9).  iHEARTMEDIA Classic Hits KJR-F (THE JET) slipped to #4 as it returned all of last month’s rather large increase (6.4-5.5).  ENTERCOM Active Rock KISW slipped to #5 with its lowest share since those bells just would not stop ringing (5.4-5.3).  It was tied with iHEARTMEDIA Classic Rock KZOK, which remained in place (5.2-5.3).

Though KISW posted its lowest 25-54 share since Santa was carousing the neighborhood, the station did rack up its eighth win in a row.  It was off slightly and KQMV was up slightly to move up to #2.  The gap was just under a share.  Two stations moved up and into an arrangement at #3.  KZOK took two steps forward as it bounced back from a down book while KUOW advanced from #6 with its best outing in over a year.  KJR-F descended from #2 to #5 as it ended a very strong two-book surge.  KIRO-F moved up to a very close #6 as it regained most of last month’s loss.  ENTERCOM Alternative KNDD (THE END) slipped three places to #7 as it returned all of last month’s solid increase.

Make it five 18-34 wins in a row for KISW.  The station did give back a good portion of last month’s large increase but still led #2 KZOK – which was up from a tie at #5 with a huge increase – by over a share.  KQMV held steady at #3 but with its lowest score in over a year.  KNDD dropped to #4 as it returned more than half of last month’s massive increase.  SINCLAIR Hot AC KPLZ (STAR) advanced four spaces to #5 as it rebounded from a down book.  HUBBARD AC KRWM (WARM) slipped to a tie at #8 with its lowest total since MARCH.  KJR-F experienced a sudden loss of cabin pressure as it dropped from #4 to #11, thus ending a robust two-book surge.

Another month, another big 18-49 win for KISW.  The station was off slightly but led a flat #2 KQMV by a share and a half.  KNDD slipped to #3 as it returned most of last month’s healthy increase.  KUOW was up two slots to #4 with its best performance in over a year.  KJR-F slipped to #5 as it returned all of last month’s gain – plus a little extra.  KZOK held firm at #6 with a small increase while ENTERCOM Country KKWF (THE WOLF) dropped to #7 where it was tied with KIRO-F.
