Garth Buchko announces his retirement

Garth Buchko is retiring after 35 years in the Radio Business. He began his career as a sales person in Rosetown Saskatchewan. Buchko has worked for many great companies over the years in senior management roles. He has managed operations in Toronto, Hamilton and most notably CJOB and Power 97 Winnipeg.  In 2014, Buchko moved to Kamloops to be a partner and GM with NL Broadcasting which was then sold to Newcap Radio in June of 2017. His last day will be sometime in July.

Worked with this guy in 1982-83 in Rosetown, Saskatchewan! We were a lot younger back then but, we all knew he was going places. Enjoy your retirement Garth!

Garth flew to Montreal and hired me in 2006 to be PD at Power 97. Like all the great general managers I have worked for – he instilled the importance of giving back to the community.
