PSR learned earlier today Newcap Edmonton and GM Sharon Taylor have parted company. Kelly Walter, GSM has been named Interim GM. No reasons were given. It was only last December Taylor arrived at the radio stations in the West Edmonton Mall, replacing retiring Randy Lemay. Taylor had previously been with Bell Media in Winnipeg.

Sharon was my PD at Energy 1200 Ottawa before Rawlco sent her to T-O to start 92.5 KISS (New Country) . I learned a lot from her.
I don’t think anyone in Edmonton will hate this news.
Absolutely the worst person I’ve ever worked under. Does not nurture or appreciate good talent, and certainly has no leadership or people skills whatsoever. Not surprised by this news at all. Love karma!
Jake – That’s pretty much what I have heard as well. Ask anyone at Newcap Edmonton. Her punting was a early Christmas gift from Rob Steele.
Funny that it took Newcap less than year while Standard/Astral let her hang around for almost 10 years. She can thank Ace Burpee at HOT 103 (Now Virgin) for those 10 years. Revenue has a way of covering up the problems.

Everyone always says in radio to ‘never burn bridges’ but this is one bridge that I never want to cross again. Sharon was one of my PD’s in my early radio years. Honestly, many of us are still scarred by her meanness.
