CBC-FM 105.7 Vancouver & 92.1 Victoria are broadcasting Randy Bachman’s last Vinyl Tap in a special three hour show from 3-6 p.m. on Canada Day, July 1st. Bachman has recorded the show from his studio on Salt Spring Island since the summer of 2005 for broadcast on Saturday nights.

  1. Right. I will see how it goes. Maybe stingray will pick vinyl tap up and it will be here locally on 104.3 the breeze before the switch to smooth jazz by crtc policy alone. Then maybe the stations ratings will go up. Like, in terms of its 9-midnight time slot nobody listens to that obviously (ratings would be higher if the smooth jazz wasnt on there) but when you have no staff expenses anymore and the smooth jazz genres successful elsewhere on the continent and the fringe content is as a result of crtc licences alone, life is easy. Talk about “in market, on topic” as simone and the rest of those radio know it alls may say. As for cbc radio, have you connected the dots yet? All that “in market, on topic” crap thats in certain markets especially right here and the fact that some of these 50s 60s 70s oldies are politically incorrect these days and that BIPOC and blm crap since the killing of george floyd have all led you to that point of no return for the bachman show. An “own goal” if there ever was one.
