Here’s a classic shot of a sign for CKDA outside the Douglas Hotel, next to Victoria’s City Hall. The Hotel Douglas, now known as the Hotel Rialto was where Dave Armstrong’s radio station CKDA called home, (located in the basement of the hotel.)
Looking at the cars, the photo appears to have been taken around the mid-50’s
Nary a rainbow crosswalk, panhandler, discarded needle or Starbucks to be seen. Downtown Victoria has come SO far…….
Nothing wrong with Rainbow crosswalks or Starbucks locations.
