A familiar face on CBC News Network for the past decade is gone from the channel.  Reshmi Nair has been popping up as a fill-in talk show host on The Evan Solomon Show and other Bell Media radio productions.  Before joining the CBC in 2009 Reshmi was a reporter at Vancouver’s News 1130 from 2004-08, and then reported briefly for CTV News first in Vancouver, then Toronto.

Allison Bailey recently left her familiar spot as a News 1130 anchor to join the Vancouver School Board as “a communications and engagement advisor.”  Bailey had been with CKWX since 2014, after her first three years in the business at CKNW News.

Word from CHEK News in Victoria is that Nicholas Pescod is joining the CHEK newsroom as a digital editor. Pescod has been a journalist with the Nanaimo twice-weekly community paper the News Bulletin for the last six years.

Upcountry, Grant Scott is leaving his programming role for Bell Media in Terrace and Prince Rupert to take over programming for the Bell radio stations in Penticton and the South Okanagan. Scott had been PD for Bell’s BC North station cluster since 2012.

The person he is replacing in the Okanagan is Amy Gilbert who is prairie-bound to assume her new role as Program Director for Bell Media’s three-station group in Winnipeg.  She will have responsibility for Virgin Radio (CKMM-FM) and Bob FM (CFWM-FM) Winnipeg as well as Bob FM (CKX-FM) in Brandon. Gilbert just celebrated her 10th anniversary with Bell Media.

Doug Campbell has just been named Chief Revenue Officer for Golden West Broadcasting.  Campbell comes from digital marketing provider Vendasta, which under his guidance had made Deloitte’s list of 500 North American fastest growing tech companies.   Prior to Vendasta Campbell was a senior exec with Mosaic Place arena in Moose Jaw, a salesman with Clear Sky Radio in Lethbridge, and similar roles with hockey teams in Lethbridge and Regina.
