There is no attempt to curtail the effect of accusations that normally would never be considered without some form of proof. It takes only a suggestion of wrongdoing to destroy the reputation & life of the accused. We are seeing the witch hunts of Salem re-enacted. I have no doubt there are people who exploit & abuse but this has opened a door that completely blows every day interactions into something sinister if one cares to view it that way.
