iHeart Launches 1090 KJR and South Sound Talk 850 Seattle

.

iHeartMedia has made changes at two of its Seattle area stations.

Sports “1090 The Fan” KFNQ has relaunched as “1090 KJR” as a brand extension of Sports 950 KJR. Meanwhile 850 KHHO Tacoma flipped from a mix of NBC and Fox Sports Radio programming to Conservative Talk “South Sound Talk 850“.

1090 KJR will carry Fox Sports Radio’s Dan Patrick, The Herd with Colin Cowherd, and Doug Gottlieb from 6am to 3pm while retaining the previous CBS Sports Radio programming from 3pm-6am. The station also carries Seattle Thunderbirds hockey.

850 KHHO’s weekday lineup will feature Glenn Beck from 6-9am, Armstrong and Getty from 9am-12pm, Todd Schnitt 12-3pm, Buck Sexton with America Now from 3-7pm, Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis from 7-10pm, Recovery Coast to Coast 10pm-12am, Beyond Reality Radio 12-2am, and NBC Sports Radio 2-6am. KHHO is also the flagship for Tacoma Rainiers baseball.

“We’re glad that we can continue to give the best in sports talk programming to our Seattle listeners,” said Rich Moore, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Seattle. “With the re-launch of 1090 KJR and South Sound Talk 850, the KJR brand in Seattle just got even bigger!”

  1. Ironic footnote – 1090 was once home to one-time KJR Top 40 competitor KING-AM. Their “fake Drake” presentation was no match for KJR, Pat O’Day and Lan Roberts. It’s… contest time!
