Several major news outlets found themselves blocked from attending a Friday White House press briefing with Sean Spicer, the Press Secretary, the latest sign of worsening relations between the Trump administration and the media attempting to cover it.

The New York Times, CNN, the Los Angeles Times, Huffington Post, Buzzfeed and Politico were among the news organizations prevented from attending, according to posts by reporters from those outlets on Twitter, as were several foreign news organizations. The Associated Press and Time declined to take part. The White House was said to have invited press organizations to the event.

The three major broadcast networks – CBS, ABC, and NBC – were invited to the briefing, as were several news outlets that play to a conservative readership, such as Breitbart, The Washington Times and One America News Network.

  1. President Trump is showing the biased MSM that he will not be pushed around by them and their agenda driven FAKE NEWS as well as nonsensical and unverifiable blathering attacks against him and his government.

Ironically at most other times in modern history the POTUS would lose on such a battle but the USA and much of the western developed world has and /or is changing circa 2016/2017 and the FAKE NEWS media will NOT get more of the public, especially main street / middle America USA to go with them, but if the MSM and its irrational hate filled attacks and fake news on President Trump goes on will only draw more people to support him.

  2. Agree with Les H. It seems that some of the MSM (CNN) still havent come to grips with the not so fake news that HRC LOST THE ELECTION.

Still Trump had better not push these news orgs to far. He should now allow them all Back . His press secretary should confront them at every press conference by asking them to explain the lies that their news orgs have told re POTUS. If they cant answer his questions then he need not answer their questions. This way they are forced to deal with fake news or they are in the room (not bared) but all they get to do is keep the seat warm.

  3. You’re right, guys. Not allowing media into press briefings is a sign of a true leader, in touch with the people. Who needs the LA Times and the NY Times – lord knows they’ve never been industry leaders in reporting . Give us more Fox News!

  4. BTW, President Trump is not forcing out or outlawing a FREE PRESS! Nothing he says or does has denied the US population of a FREE PRESS!

Trump is looking to call out and hold to account the FAKE NEWS, MSM. If the press feels it has a right to hold the President and government to account and any and all people should desire to hold government to account, the press too must be held to account. In recent times MSM has NOT been held to account, and as such has become a propaganda tool and used by elites and globalists to shill their distortions and lies.

President Trump believes to be an effective leader he must be able to throw back to the press stuff he sees as their FAKE NEWS, lies and propaganda. MSM is killing itself off by being so biased and so FAKE NEWS that circa 2017 people have many alternative news/info vehicles that they do not HAVE TO JUST TRUST MSM!

So keep up killing yourselves MSM! We do not NEED you, but if you were to regain the idea of principled journalism, we would use you as ONE source for info/news. The days of you holding us captive are over and President Trump knows it along with us!

  5. I was watching an episode of the original MacGyver earlier, whose ending touched on the way the news media operates (and is a case of art imitating life): In response to an unethical TV reporter’s claim that the title character was “against a free and democratic press” (which came after he criticized the reporter for using his position for muckraking), MacGyver told the paparazzo point-blank that he’s not opposed to a free press, just to those who misuse and abuse it, like said reporter.

That closing scene serves not only as a scathing condemnation of unethical journalists (which nowadays covers the entire liberal media), as true as it was when the episode first aired in 1990, that condemnation of how the liberal media operates is even truer today in the wake of the 2016 presidential campaign and all the scandals that emerged from it that tied to both the Democrats and their media cheerleaders.
