Caring for Kids Radiothon Raises $1.78 million!!!

14 year total at over $22.7 Million for the Alberta Children’s Hospital!

Listeners of the 14th annual Country 105 Caring For Kids Radiothon once again responded with overwhelming generosity. During the final hour, on-air personalities from Country 105 announced that their three-day event raised over $1.78 million for the Alberta Children’s Hospital, bringing the overall Radiothon total to more than $22.7 million!

Over 70 families whose children have received life-changing and life-altering care from the Alberta Children’s Hospital shared their stories on air as their way of saying thank you to their doctors, nurses and therapists. Country music star and former nurse Paul Brandt again co-hosted with the Country 105 FM announcers and sang for everyone in hospital.

“Thanks to community support, the Alberta Children’s Hospital is providing world-class care to children in ways they did not even imagine ten years ago,” says Saifa Koonar, President & CEO, Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. “In fact, if you could somehow listen to all of the Radiothons back to back, you’d actually hear how care has improved over time. We heard from patient this year whose stories simply wouldn’t have been possible when our first Radiothon aired and we have our generous community to thank for that.”

“No matter what challenges may crop up, people in this community always seem to have time and generosity left over to help kids,” says Phil Kallsen, Program Director, Country 105 FM. “After fourteen years, the Caring for Kids Radiothon remains a bright spot in our year. While we provide the airwaves on which these heartwarming stories are told, it’s our listeners who rally around these kids and families – and it’s them who make Radiothon truly inspiring.”

The official phone bank sponsor of this year’s event was Brookfield Residential.
