Longtime political pundit John McLaughlin has died. He was 89.
The creator, executive producer and host of The McLaughlin Group “passed away peacefully,” according to the CBS show’s Facebook page on Tuesday.
“A message from the McLaughlin Group family. Earlier this morning, a beloved friend and mentor, Dr. John McLaughlin, passed away peacefully at the age of 89,” the statement read. “As a former jesuit priest, teacher, pundit and news host, John touched many lives. For 34 years, The McLaughlin Group informed millions of Americans. Now he has said bye bye for the last time, to rejoin his beloved dog, Oliver, in heaven. He will always be remembered. Please note, we will inform you – via this page – of memorial service details.”

RIP Mr. McLaughlin.
I used to watch the McLaughlin group quite regularly in the 1990’s and early 2000’s. It was informative and interesting political punditry. Due to media changes and consumption styles, I stopped watching the show oh about 10 years ago.
He was an obnoxious loudmouth, and it is no wonder he left the Jesuits (or they let him go).
Best thing about the show was Pat Buchanan, who taught The Donald everything he needs to know about the dangers of so-called ‘open borders’ and unvetted illegal Mexican and Muslim immigration, masquerading as legitimate refugees.
Buchanan’s articles at Chronicles Magazine:
We’ve learned there will be one final McLaughlin Group broadcast with John’s longtime regulars and Pat Buchanan in the host’s chair this weekend. Set your DVR’s.
