WINNIPEG — 99.1 Fresh FM has let go of morning show host Matt Sutton.

The Australian import joined the Corus Entertainment station in February 2013 alongside former co-host Jennifer David. Until Thursday, he had been one half of the morning duo with Sarah Christie.

“Extremely sad to announce that this morn was the last show on @991FreshFM. Thank you for welcoming me & embracing me Wpg. I’m deeply shocked,” Sutton tweeted.

General manager Scott Armstrong declined to comment when reached by e-mail.

In the fall radio ratings released in November, Fresh FM recorded a 2.2 share in the 12+ demographic, as released by Numeris.

  1. Hate to see another jock unemployed.

CORUS has long believed that ‘if it work is CITY A it’ll work in CITY B’. That’s just not the case. The FRESH format works in London…that’s it.

Hoping to see some turn around in Edmonton with the recent changes they’ve made in morning drive.
