Corus Revamps Morning Radio; New Shows to Debut Monday

May 30, 2014

Corus Entertainment will launch two new morning radio shows Monday morning in the Winnipeg market.

News-talk leader 680 CJOB will be anchored by Richard Cloutier and Kathy Kennedy as part of “Winnipeg’s Morning News.”

Hal Anderson recently held the reigns on morning show duties before being let go earlier this month.

Down the hall at sister station 99.1 Fresh FM, host Matt Sutton will be joined by a new co-host, Sarah Christie. The former 99.9 BOB FM intern returns to the city after most recently spending time at 2Day FM in Niagara Falls. Her last day on the air was Thursday.

“We are excited to bring familiar and new voices to Winnipeg radio next week,” said Corus Radio GM Scott Armstrong, in a release. “Richard and Kathy, along with the entire CJOB information team, will provide a fresh, fast-paced show that fits our busy lifestyles. On the Fresh FM side, Sarah will bring great spirit to the show and we’re delighted that she’s joining Matt in the mornings.”

Both shows will debut June 2.

CJOB held a 12.0 in the latest spring ratings book, while Fresh pulled in a 2.0 — down half a point from the same period last year.
