Major League Baseball teams, like the Seattle Mariners with Robinson Cano, are committing record salaries over the next decade based off anticipated revenue from new regional sports network contracts. But is it a sustainable business model?

Seattle Times investigative sports columnist Geoff Baker took a detailed, critical look at the higher carriage fees being charged, and the inflated salaries that clubs have funded through their burgeoning rights fees, and sought the views of experts on whether or not the financial bubble would eventually burst.
