The Tremeloes are an English beat group founded in 1958 in Dagenham, England.[2] They initially found success in the British Invasion era with lead singer Brian Poole, scoring a UK chart-topper in 1963 with “Do You Love Me“. Guy likes a girl whose boy friend is cheating on her. Is he doing her a favour by shutting up?

Or is he just being selfishly strategic? If he tells her, she will hate him for breaking the bad news. (“And if I tried I know she’d say I lied”). But if he waits until she learns the truth, he can rush in to pick up the pieces.
