Global News begs for government money as it faces imminent collapse

The owners of Global News are demanding more government funding as its news media company faces imminent financial collapse.

According to Blacklock’s Reporter, although Corus Entertainment Inc. has benefited from millions in taxpayer funding, its executive vice president told the Senate transport and communications committee that its news business was “on the brink.”

  1. Hey Troy. Quit your whining. Why should the government (we) give you money to buttress a dying platform. And don’t give mebthe tired excuse that you’re ‘informing’ the country. TV News is way past its due date.

  2. Troy, either the product is not in demand, or you don’t know what you’re doing…it cannot be anything else. So have to agree with Brenda, why come to us for money when that has not worked in the past.

  3. Hey Troy, maybe if you did a full and proper investigation on why a part-time drama teacher at a private girls school in BC would need a NDA, or how a professional female reporter “mis-remembers” then maybe you can get a few bucks.
    Kinda like: do your job eh?

    Most of the staff are news readers not reporters. Improve the quality and teach people how to be reporters. You have to pay for quality and obviously that is not happening, a perfect example is Global Vancouver
