CHEK TV Victoria reporter Veronica Cooper has announced her retirement after 37 years — her entire broadcast career. She has worked in a number of positions at CHEK over the years, including News Editor, Archivist and Researcher, Weather Host, CHEK Around co-host, and Education and Health Reporter.  Twitter Announcement

    You will get to do what you want, when you want.
    But you will be missed by all us CHEK viewers.

  2. Not that her retirement matters to me, truth be told. Something that should be more newsworthy which I recently noticed yesterday – Unifor, the union which represents CHEK and which has historically supported the NDP, recently put out an anti-Conservative election campaign attack ad on CHEK. Given Unifor’s connections to both CHEK and the NDP, I would call that conflict of interest (as well as a display of open bias) for CHEK to air such an ad.
