Edgar Holland Winter (born December 28, 1946) is an American musician, songwriter, and record producer.[1] He is known for being a multi-instrumentalist—keyboardist, guitarist, saxophonist and percussionist—as well as a singer. His success peaked in the 1970s with his band The Edgar Winter Group and their popular songs “Frankenstein[1] and “Free Ride“.

  1. Great performer. Especially when Rick Derringer was playing the guitar. Hat’s off to Edgar and his brother Johhny for springing forth from their albinism challenge and making a mark in the music world. Our own John Kay from Steppenwolf suffers from total colourblindness and he overcame that related challenge and went on to musical success. And of course Jeff Healy.
    My respect to these gentlemen.
