Trudeau government looking to force news outlets to get government licences

Canadian Heritage Minister Steven Guilbeault suggested news media in Canada should be regulated, requiring news outlets in Canada to be licenced.

“If you’re a distributor of content in Canada and obviously if you’re a very small media organization the requirement probably wouldn’t be the same if you’re Facebook, or Google. There would have to be some proportionality embedded into this,” Guilbeault told Evan Solomon an interview on CTV’s Question Period.

“We would ask that they have a licence, yes,” Guilbeault continued.

  1. License for free speech = speech is no longer free and communists agree I’m sure. Censorship is the way of coward, thugs and dictators. Now you know who rules the world.

    Agreed, it might be nice to hear and see Media itself Push Back against this kind of Federal Liberal PM Justin Social Engineering, surely they must be concerned, where are they ?

    Politicians and their Public Sector minions always talk about Free Speech, argument, discussion, and open debate and everything that goes with it, but in reality they mean absolutely none of it .

  3. If Trudeau was caught lying, taking bribes, grabbing a womans behind, wearing black paint on his face, admiring dictators. I suppose the only comeback possible would be what about the CPC
