Netflix Approval Plummets Among Republicans

Republican’s approval of the internet streaming giant Netflix has dropped amid the company’s recent embrace of Susan Rice and Barack Obama, according to polling data obtained by Variety.

A survey by the research firm YouGov found that Netflix’s positive impression rating with Republicans fell by 16 percent since the beginning of 2018. Meanwhile, the company’s positive impression rating with Democrats has risen by 15 percent in the same period.

While Netflix maintains strong overall approval ratings from the American public, data shows that on a general perception scale of -100 to 100 the company scores 62.8 among Democrats and 41.8 percent among Republicans as of May 31.

The fall in approval comes amid the company’s announcing a “multi-year agreement” with Barack and Michelle Obama to help produce films and series for the platform — a mega-deal that was reportedly brokered by former Obama official and campaign fundraiser Ted Sarandos, who’s now Netflix’s chief content officer.

Sarandos recently downplayed claims of political bias, stating that it is “not The Obama Network” and there is “no political slant” to programming.

In March, Netflix also appointed Obama’s former national security adviser Susan Rice to its board of directors. The California-based company also produced over a hundred episodes of late-night talk show content for left-wing comedian Chelsea Handler, whose show was canceled last October. Comedian Michelle Wolf’s Netflix talk show has taken on the Trump-bashing role that Handler’s show once owned.

Rice’s appointment sparked a backlash from those critical of her controversial role in American foreign policy — most notedly reports that it was Rice who ordered the government surveillance of President Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

According to estimates, Netflix is now more valuable than both Disney and Comcast and is the second most popular television network in the United States.

  1. Key paragraph…

In fact, ‘traditional’ TV services (as opposed to online TV) are forecasted by the CRTC to maintain a dominant share of revenues for the next several years.

  2. If I had Netflix right now, I’d drop it like a bad habit in a split second, knowing now that the Great Pretender and remnants of his regime are now involved with it. Look for Netflix stock to start plummeting on the basis of this news.

  3. VancouverTVGuy, Totally agree with your post. Very appropriate description of the failed president. The great pretender, I love it.

  4. I am in total agreement, this is a Fatal Mistake for Netflix!

Who are they getting their PR advice from?

I suppose they think the Obama affiliation will improve viewership with Liberals.

Just what we need, more Angry and Bitter Class Warfare from MICHELLE Obama.

Next thing we know they might hire Failed Canadian PM Justin and he can Produce a Series on “Apologies and White Male Privilege Guilt”!

Wow, that will sure bring in the Viewers!

  5. Lets not forget a George Soros owned subsidiary has the majority of shares in Netflix today as well.

I will not give Netflix $1.00. There was a time that I thought ok maybe a good viewing alternative to cable t.v. but I bet dollars to donuts that Netflix becomes LOVE FEST for Obama and will be a propaganda network that will be totally anti-USA, anti-western, anti- white, anti-Christian, anti-family values, pro Islam, pro cultural Marxism and a liberal/SJW BULL SHIT media circus… NO THANKS! I’ll keep my money. I already know some of my money goes to unsavory things, but I can at least keep some of it from another EVIL INC. company.

  6. BMCQ,

When our PM announces another apology for what may be seen as a past transgression of another time/era I say, “I AM NOT APART OF SAID APOLOGY! Nor do I want to be as I had no part of the original as seen transgression. I need not feel any of the ‘faux’ guilt.” Oh don’t get me wrong, if my nation does a transgression against others which is seen as unlawful or unethical, then sure I will be ok to be apart of any apology, but nothing from a past time /era I had nothing to do with or even if the new found social guilt is based on revisionist idealism of right and wrong.

Judging as guilty others who are most likely not alive today for a morality and ethos they lived by back then is in of itself unethical, I want no part of such social self-guilt and self-flogging.

IE: When black nations/societies apologize to the black descendants of those THEY SOLD their now long dead family members into slavery to not just the USA but many other nations, including even more slaves in pure numbers sold to Brazil for one, then they/we can talk about the USA and black slavery 150+ years ago. In fact today circa 2018 many of these African nations and tribes even among other nations which still do so, STILL sell other blacks into slavery. THE HYPOCRISY STINKS TO HIGH HEAVEN!

To add for another point, NEVER APOLOGIZE TO A SOCIAL ACTIVIST, SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIOR, CULTURAL MARXIST, OR EVEN A MODERN LIBERAL! They will just hold your apology against you and use it to DEMAND more from you. The only way to hope to win against them is to use their tactics against them, appeasement NEVER works.

  7. I know how to save Canadian TV! Let’s have a pay-per-view network programmed by …. Justin Trudeau! Full of music and dance, unusual interviews – each with a unique perspective on life, documentaries on Cuba and finally a game show called “Who’s my Real Father” where guest celebrities try to figure out if they have any equally famous children that they may have spawned in the dark “disco” days.
