SEATTLE-TACOMA: The Hubbard Cupboard

Normally, we look for pithy ways to talk about the continued 6+ dominance of HUBBARD Top 40/M KQMV (MOVIN). While it is true the station was #1 for the seventh book in a row, it did post its lowest number since AUGUST (7.4-6.2). That opened the door for its cluster sister HUBBARD AC KRWM (WARM), which heated up (sorry) with its best elf-free share in over a year (5.0-6.1) to move up two spots to claim #2. UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON N/T KUOW was off for the third book in a row (5.8-5.7) and slid back to #3. The other former #2 station was iHEARTMEDIA Classic Hits KJR-F (THE JET). It dropped to #4 (5.8-5.0) where it was joined by ENTERCOM Active Rock KISW, which posted its best number in over a year (4.9-5.0). CBS RADIO Country KMPS moved up to #6 with its highest score in over a year (4.5-4.9) while the two previous #5 partners went their separate ways. CBS RADIO Classic Rock KZOK slid to #7 (4.9-4.7) while FRIENDS OF 88.5 FM Jazz KNKX ended up at #8 (4.9-4.5)

Over the previous 13 surveys, the only entity that could keep KQMV from being #1 25-54 was that right jolly old elf. Well, he has been usurped by KISW, which vaulted to the lead this time with its highest share in over a year. KQMV had its lowest total since AUGUST and dropped back to #2. CBS RADIO Adult Hits KJAQ (JACK) got back some of last month’s loss to move up to #3 while KRWM advanced five spaces to #4 with its best book in over a year that did not feature the TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA. KJR-F slid to #5 with a small loss while ENTERCOM Alternative KNDD (THE END) fell to a tie at #6 with its lowest total since MARCH.

For the fifth book in a row, KQMV was #1 18-34. However, the station had its lowest share in over a year and, when you combine that with KISW’s small increase, you end up with a tie at the top. KRWM made a major move as it advanced from a tie at #11 to #3 with a huge increase. KNDD slipped back to #4 with its lowest score in over a year. ENTERCOM Rhythmic AC KHTP (HOT) stepped back to #5 with its least productive outing since DECEMBER. HUBBARD Rock KVRQ dropped down to #7 after giving back a portion of last month’s massive increase.

While KQMV did have its lowest 18-49 share in over a year, the station remained comfortably atop the standings. KISW held steady at #2 with a small loss. KRWM moved up four slots to #3 with a solid increase, which pushed KNDD back to #4. KJAQ took a step back to #5 while the two previous residents of that position moved out. KHTP ended up at #6 with its lowest share since egg nog was readily available in the grocery stores. KJR-F landed (natch) at #7 with a small loss.
