Thanks to Hans Sipma and the Straight for posting a youtube video from the 70’s, with a bike trip throughout the North Shore across the Lions Gate bridge, into Stanley Park and throughout the lower mainland, and the bonus are the various airchecks from CKLG with then, Gil Harris, now Doc, and special guest Wolfman Jack. Other familiar voices include a newscast from CKNW with Jack Bennest, back to LG and over to CFUN with Daryl B, not to forget Roy Hennessey doing the morning show on CKLG

Little did we/they know back then that radio DJ’s and hosts would be the last true characters that held the radio station and audience together between songs. Today with all too many automated DJ’s or low buck, low/no skill DJ’s spinning all too much crap top 20/40 music, we’d each sit here for over 10 minutes to listen to old school radio DJ’s / hosts, and the bumpers in a montage.
The video clip of Vancouver then and now only makes this more fun to watch.
