The recent news page at Northwest Broadcasters reports that former News1130 Vancouver news staffer and now West Vancouver Police Department constable Jeff Palmer is recovering at home after suffering three heart attacks.  He was participating in the Cops for Cancer ride when he went into full arrest.  It happened a second time during the ambulance ride to Royal Columbian Hospital and again during stent surgery.  He expects to be back to light work in 4-6 weeks.

Palmer was on air in a number of news positions at News1130 CKWX from 1987-2002 before joining the West Vancouver Police.

  1. Thank GOD Jeff is OK. Our best wishes for a full recovery from our Family. We had the pleasure of working with Jeff on Ash Street, for many years. Great fellow.

  2. Hoping that it’s a speedy recovery for a guy who has been a model of fitness. Jeff was a great guy to work with at News1130 and he is one of the bricks in the bedrock of its success. His decision to change careers to police work made sense if you knew his ability to work with, and his desire to help people. Thanks to the emergency services and doctors who saved his life.
