Veteran BC Broadcaster Gordon Rose Dead at 90

According to Gord Lansdell at his Northwest Broadcasters site, longtime  Vancouver broadcaster Gordon Rose died July 17 at age 90 at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster following a broken hip and subsequent surgery.

He worked at a number of local stations during his career, including host of DX Prowl on CKMO Vancouver in 1945, announcer at CHWK Chilliwack from 1945-53, news at CKNW New Westminster from 1953-55 and news at CFUN Vancouver from 1955-57.

Rose also helped launch and was Assistant Manager at CJJC Langley from 1963-65 and served in both sales and news at CHWK Chilliwack from 1965 until his retirement in 1980.  A celebration of life will be announced shortly.
