In a Monday morning memo to staffers, CBS Radio News VP Harvey Nagler announced that veteran journalist Pam Coulter  has been promoted to to White House Correspondent for the network. She’ll takeover the plum post most recently held by Peter Maer, who retired at the end of last year.

Along with her time at CBS News, Coulter’s network news resume also includes stints at NPR and ABC News Radio, where she covered the White House, Congress and the Pentagon. “Pam is a multiple Edward R. Murrow award winner, as well as the winner last year of the Sigma Delta Chi Award for her in-depth reports on the March on Washington’s 50th Anniversary,” said Nagler.

“Her years of outstanding reporting experience enables her to put events into perspective, which is so important in this job.” Coulter assumes her new gig on March 2nd.

  1. Guess a radio correspondent doesn’t have the audio newshole to do much digging, but wonder if she’ll be a lackey for the administration as CBS reporters have been since Sharyl Attkinson got the heave-ho for asking too many questions about the IRS and Benghazi.

I believe the brother of Obama deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes is a bigwig at CBS News.
