When I talked to Jian Ghomeshi a couple of years ago, near the end of the interview, reflecting on his life and work he said, ‘it’s better to burn out than fade away.’ I don’t think his life and career exploding into flames like this, and the precipitous fall, was what he had in mind.
This Ghomeshi interview was on his memoir, and if I recall I was quite complimentary to him and it. A lot’s happened since then, that’s for sure!
