Colin James has today’s almost forgotten track

Surely this track is still receiving airplay, being by a Canadian and all, but, surely, there may be a whole generation that might not have been exposed to it as yet…Colin James was already established as one of many blues based guitar heroes in Canada, and had been touring for years already in the early 90s when he decided to add a horn section and make a couple of albums as Colin James and the Little Big Band…he chose the excellent American outfit Roomful of Blues to assume the role of the Little Big Band, and the results, including this track, were surely awesome…I still crank it up whenever this track comes up in random play in my home, and, surely, you will do the same today…

Greg Simpson firmly believes his career in the music industry officially began on March 14, 1965 when a band gave him ten dollars as commission for helping them find a gig. He hasn’t looked back since then and looks forward to celebrating his fiftieth in 2015 with an enormous party paid for by the hundreds of dollars he’s made since then. His career has covered all aspects from radio for many years, and including working for record labels, artists and, since 1992, Canadian Music Week where he programs the radio stream and manages all conference streams and events in real time annually. He also attends half a dozen conferences a year doing research for CMW and is generally accepted as a knowledgeable cat with a few stories to tell. At the root of it all, though, is his undying love for music and musicians.

I have been fortunate to see James on several occasions, he never disappointed.

He seems able to do it all, a great talent. Really like all of his music but especially the Big Band stuff.

His re-do of the Van Morrison Into the Mystic was amazing. at least in my opinion. Now that you have reminded me of James I will You Tube some of his music this week.

I hope he has been able to benefit financially from his career up to this point as he has been a hard working guy.

Thanks
