Actually, the Bro Jake Show is being shortened by 30 minutes, as it was formerly on from 6:00-10:00
. Will be interesting to see who will win in this new sports Radio battle.

Not sure about this lineup, probably make more sense moving a guy like Taylor to mornings because he is more entertaining on non-sports talk which might make the show more appealing to females than it is now. As for the afternoons Sekeres is going to have to learn to stop shouting, the mike picks up normal talk just fine. Marjanovich on the other hand fits the afternoons well and if it’s ever possible to have him and Pratt host a show where they are at each constantly it might be a winner against the Rogers station who will have the high-level Canucks news before them.

TSN 1040 probably have to hope the Canucks are so bad that people lose interest early in the season and focus on other sports like NFL and CFL. Might be a tough one with more haircuts later on in the season.

oh yawn…..
The first year for SN 650 will be a growing year, and well 1040 will be same old same (yes, even these ‘changes’ will not make much difference) … give it time, only one sports station can survive in this city….

Just glad that Pratt and Bro continue. Even though 1040’s a weak daytime signal here in Victoria, they are my go-to guys for interpreting anything important re: the Canucks. With Iain McIntyre retired at the Sun, maybe 1040 or the new 650 can shoehorn him into a co-hosting spot during hockey season.

Big question remains…what will happen to 1410? Maybe go dark? Seems a shame as it broadcasts on a pretty decent signal.

Stopped listening to team1040 due to the hosts’ political rants.
Don’t need it on sports talk shows.

Bring on sportsnet 650!
TSN 1040 is too political. I will go elsewhere for sports news, gladly.
Some of us sports fans don’t care about radio hosts’ personal opinions of world matters…
I’m only here for sports.

Jack, I have to agree there is nothing more irritating than tuning into TSN1040 and hearing some sports jock playing voice clips and babbling on and on about US politics. Sometimes I get the feeling these guys dont like their job and are frustrated talk show hosts.

They dont realize that people watch sports to be entertained and get away from the political garbage going on on cable news. Hopefully, the people at the new Rogers station will figure it and tell their on air staff Sports means Sports.

How about about pointing the transmitter a little more towards Vancouver Island so Victorians can listen along.

Sigh is right..VCR not big enough nor has the number of teams to support 2 sports stations.
The GTA region has 3-4 the market size and many more sports events, and 2 sports stations..
Not rocket science..

Lineup looks good except for the morning clown show. Anybody who looks to Pratt and Jake to get educated sports opinions should stop watching sports.

Jeff Paterson rehiring confirmed at TSN 1040. Yuk!
Rather than having my ears bleed listening to his abominable, sing-song patter, tuning into 650 will be a pleasant change.

I never really was a sports radio fan. Then CKNW went all-SJW and I just couldn’t stomach all the man-hating and white-guilt garbage. So, I started tuning into 1040 as there was nothing else listenable (CBC, are you kidding me?)

Well, I got hooked. Daily fare until the SJW and US Politics sneer and snicker crept into the shows. That, coupled with the incessant CFL-associated “Violence Against Women” campaign. Please, football players have a greater control over their violent instinct than you or I. Indeed, policemen have a 3 to 4 times higher level of spousal abuse than the average Canadian. Maybe those violence against women ads should be played during those “honouring our first responders” moments during football games.

I am sick and bloody tired of social engineering. Just talk effing sports.

Jake and Pratt is painful. Sat was the only talent there, so I’ll be switching to 650 in the morning. I’ll listen to S&P for my sports news. Enjoy the fun of Donnie and Moj, but Henderson makes it listenable.
