AC brings you Cox radio jock from Rock 105 Jacksonville who just found out moments before his shift through a third party he was going to be fired on Friday. He confirms this to be true after 4 years. HOT HOT. Rather than get fired he starts his shift and gives management the big middle finger live on the air and walks out master control. A must listen to audio.

This is from October 2, 2008. Afternoon drive guy, Gregg Stepp.

"Rot in hell, Cox Radio. I am gone!" 19 seconds of dead air before someone came to the rescue.

I guess that's one of the benefits of being on radio... I can think of a former boss or two I'd like to do that to.

When did this happen? Who was the jock, and is he working again? Are the suits he dissed still there?

How many jocks that have been treated the same would have done this? I know I would have! We should all be so lucky to get a heads up.

Very funny!  Too bad he sounds like 98% of all American Male radio announcers...otherwise it might be a little easier for him to find a new job.

The management are probably more embarassed that their names were mentioned to the public.

I wonder if there was any listener feedback afterwards???

According to Rock 105 Gregg Stepp was replaced by shock jock Greasman.

"Grease is a natural fit into the line-up at Rock 105”, said ROCK 105 General Manager David Isreal. “There is no other personality in the history of Jacksonville radio that has left such an indelible mark on the sense of humor of the city.”

AC fired off an email to Gregg Stepp to see how he feels about stepping up to the mic with his unique on-air resignation. Keep you posted.

Happy Thanks Giving Weekend Canada.

AC made several attempts to confirm the stunt. We contacted the jock Gregg Stepps plus the man in question Cox Radio David Isreal. No comment.

AC even contacted the "Greaseman" for a comment about the promo stunt. Lets just say he takes after his name. Sorry we don't pay for airchecks.

A final note please refrain from resigning on-air unless you mean it you turkey.

The Greaseman is your classic journeyman jock.  The "Brent Ashton" of the radio world.
