After pouring over potential applications and narrowing down the candidates with the help of experts, numerous tests, interviews and listener feedback, CHUM Radio's ENERGY 101.5 FM has selected the bride for its hugely successful radio event Two Strangers and a Wedding.
Groom hopefuls can submit their applications until October 12.
Monday's Bride, a code name chosen from the day of the week she was heard on-air, accepted the bride spot on Freeway and Meg in the Morning, where all the action has been unfolding each day from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m, programmers describe.
Monday's Bride will not see a picture or meet her future mate until their wedding day, scheduled for October 30. With the bride in place, its time for her potential partners to show their stuff as the event opens up for groom applications. ENERGY 101.5 FM expects to receive dozens of submissions for the groom candidate, as the social experiment has been very well received in Calgary.
"The number of web hits is through the roof since we launched Two Strangers and a Wedding in September," said Rob Mise, Program Director, ENERGY 101.5 FM. "We received well over 50 submissions for the bride portion; we are already off to a flying start and are thrilled that Calgary has jumped on board with this exciting event! We are really looking forward to seeing the grooms come forward."
Groom hopefuls have until midnight on Sunday, October 12 to apply to the Two Strangers and a Wedding event through http://www.energy1015.com. Similar to the bride application process, potential grooms will go through a variety of screening tests and background checks conducted by a panel of experts, to determine his/her compatibility with the chosen bride. With listeners help, a match for Monday's Bride will be selected during the week of October 20.

About Two Strangers and a Wedding
Based on similar events on radio airwaves in the U.S., U.K., Australia – and now a radio-first in Canada – ENERGY 101.5 FM's Two Strangers and a Wedding is a social experiment and interactive match-making event for listeners. ENERGY 101.5 FM is assisting in the search for two people looking for love, who will meet over the airwaves, make a connection and wed at the end of the journey. The catch? They do it all without ever seeing each other. Starting out with hundreds of romantic hopefuls, listeners have an active role in helping choose the lucky pair who will only lay eyes on one another on their wedding day, thus proving or disproving that love can be blind.
