Here's a farewell present for Bear station manager Marty Forbes, retiring at the end of the year
It may not be a "serious" book, but the BBM (Bureau of Broadcast Measurement) summer survey of Greater Edmonton's radio listening habits, for the first time ever, has The Bear at No. 1.
It's the first time since the '90s that a Corus Entertainment station - CHED, CISN or Joe FM (formerly Power 92) - has been bumped out of the top dog spot.
The other big stories from this book include the continuing rise of teen station The Bounce, and the rise of Capital FM at the expense of JOE-FM and EZ ROCK.
All radio managers agree, measurements made during the lazy, hazy days of summer aren't to be taken too seriously.
Still, first place is first place! Congratulations to the Bear and all its crew.
