The following was heard twice in a 10 minute span on 104.9 around 10 this morning:

*Song ended
*Close to 40 seconds of dead air
*Station I.D. promoting CLEAR-FM
*First half-minute of "Kiss Is On My List" by Hall & Oates before a fadeout
*A different song

You'd think the powers that be in programming would have taken EXTRA STRIDES to ensure all traces of the previous station were gone!  HOW EMBARRASSING for a so-called Major Market station.

The log says at 10:08AM "Kiss On My List"  by Daryl Hall John Oates

10:09AM "Storm Before The Calm"  by Luba

I heard last week "Kiss on My list" as you can see above some tech issues happened as "Kiss On My list" is not a min long. Maybe they should bring in that radio engineer see what's going on as the station is number one in voice-tracking---automation mode. I can't see how they can have any Clear FILES in the data base to pull from. Maybe AAron can assist in this. Will they be hiring any radio live staff because Rogers is all about making margins. That might be the reason no air staff make cut backs to show a profit. The niche format can intro and extro out all day"wage free" Maybe they should hire a board op.

It's clearly the backup CD being triggered.

HAHAHAHAHA.......... oh god, its like one of those trainwreck jokes where you can't turn away....... Lets Bash Bash Bash Bash, then oops, right....... ok, that now makes sense....... Off Air Back Up CD engages...... problem fixes, and auto-disengages Back Up CD......

Clearly need to make a new disk though...... usually one of those minuscule details that fell through the cracks......

thanks for the chuckle Aaron!

Given how hasty the whole thing seemed, I would have been shocked had the backup CD BEEN updated.

In fact, I'm just impressed that it wasn't a CD of Xfm.

Clearly nobody is paying attention, clearly an easy fix, clearly It must be clearly fixed by now.
Are we all clear on this clear matter of a clear sweeper clearly sneaking in?

I was listening today and heard some weird things happening - well, weird to my ear.  This afternoon, the station was playing Light My Fire by the Doors, and it sounded like a very poor quality MP3 or a really bad record.  The sound was breaking up, and sounded like my old 45's used to sound after all too many turns on the table.  I thought it was my radio, but immediately following the tune, a couple of commercials were inserted and the sound was excellent.

I just heard a splitter for the Greatest Hits of All Time, which would normally be followed by a Greatest Hit of All Time, but was in fact followed by a commercial.

These things are screwing with my head....

Otherwise, some great tunes.

I'm a new member and am curious what anyone can tell me about an American air talent moving into Canada for a job.  My wife is Canadian, from Vancouver and I look for openings there from time to time.  With the recent flip of Clear and they're posting looking for talent on the Rogers website I just wonder if anyone here has "made that leap".

Thanks!
