Promotes Rob Dunlop to Senior Vice President of Operations

Fisher Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: FSCI) today announced the promotion of Robert I. Dunlop to Senior Vice President of Operations. In this position, Mr. Dunlop will have operational responsibilities for Fisher's 28 broadcast properties and will continue to oversee the Company's digital and technology initiatives. Mr. Dunlop's appointment was effective August 1, and he will report to Fisher President and Chief Executive Officer Colleen Brown.

"Rob is a proven broadcast media executive with a comprehensive understanding of our industry," said Ms. Brown. "His deep background in news, sales, research, technology and new media will serve us well as we continue to transform Fisher's operations and its business model."

"Our efforts are strategically focused on growing ratings, driving sales creatively and rapidly, improving operational effectiveness and continuing to develop our digital businesses," added Ms. Brown. "Tapping into Rob's experience and talent to work more closely with the stations will further accelerate our delivery of peer-leading growth. Mr. Dunlop joined Fisher in 1991 as Program and Operations Manager for the Company's Seattle radio properties. In 1995, he became Vice President and Station Manager, and in 1999 was promoted to Vice President and General Manager. In 2006, he was appointed a Senior Vice President, assisting the senior management team in developing the Company's strategic plan and launching Fisher's Developing Media unit.

Mr. Dunlop, 41, received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ohio State University and an MBA from the University of Washington.
