To Mighty Thor...you really know how to win friends and influence your neighbors(the private sector especially)! We already know that most CBC empolyees look down there noses at us and think they're better that the rest of us...you just proved it. You can't really slap yourself on the back and say you get paid better than the rest of us cause you earned...we know that would be false. And we also know that you can't say that you have to work really hard...because the majority of you don't. So what exactly are you trying to defend?
Well, quite apart from the fact that your post contains a number of sweeping generalization based on your extremely limited knowledge of CBC (do you have even the slightest idea of what a CBC employee does in his or her daily work? Highly doubtful), I can honestly say that I hear very few people Mother Corp dissing private radio types. We respect you and we largely feel a great deal of sympathy for the lousy salaries that most of you are paid. At the same time, I can only speak of the puzzlement that I and many of my colleagues feel when we're subjected to the hostility of private radio types who project their own frustrations over their poor salaries onto us. What is that a lot of the old-timers and management types say when confronted with this problem in their own shops? Oh yeah...if you don't like it, leave. That would be my advice to anyone who wants blame CBC workers for getting a living wage while the rest of you can't or won't. |
