I hear Rob Christie wrapped up on Magic today.   Is Pat Cardinal recreating his old team from CHED to Capital?  Or is Magic cleaning house before selling to Rogers?

If that's true then of course he's going to Capital and reuniting with Audie.

At least there's a vacancy for Chuck Chandler to fill. He seems to be used to short term careers of late.

According to Magic's website "Duncan Petersen is in for Rob this week" which would indicate Christie's just on holidays.  Rawlco's usually pretty quick to remove people off their website when they leave (as are most stations).

The nasty part is when management hasn't told you yet and you just happen to surf the station's website and notice your bio is gone.

I looooove how the gossipsphere that is PSR can whip themselves in to a frenzy over something that isn't true so they can fantasy-program a station that has them all warm and fuzzy (a station, which likely got an unnatural bump in the BBMs... remember, once is lucky... twice could be something... three times -- that's a trend).

The president of their company said they're not selling.  What part of that *don't* you understand.  Do you need someone to make it any clearer for you?

"With the change at CISS-FM Toronto came rumors about more possible changes and/or sales of
other Rawlco Communications stations. Rawlco President
Gord Rawlinson says such speculation is in error. In fact, he
said, “the only market where we felt we had no chance of
doubling-up was Toronto,”

From what everybody is saying, it seems that Rawlco will sell to either CHUM/CTV or Rogers. Just a matter of time. From what I hear Rawlco does not like to tell anybody anything until the last possible second, even PD's and GM's. As Aaron pointed out we've seen it before in the east, it will happen in the west...just wait

Why would anyone tell their staff before a move like that?

Just because a company prez says it, doesn't make it so. Do you think the guy is in town for Capital Ex? My guess is shit will be hitting the fan shortly.

Okay, so who's your source then.

All I'm saying is that the company is on the record stating something.  Unless you have a name more tangible and credible than Graham Hicks, or your own imagination, then this story (sic) is nothing more than typical PSR fantasy baseball.

I did say my 'guess'. Nothing more. I don't work for them so it doesn't effect me. It is fun to speculate though, not as much fun as fantasy baseball but we wouldn't lurk here if it wasn't somewhat interesting.

Since we're talking fantasy baseball...
Does anybody have any "stats" on Christie?
From what I remember he's been hitting a little below league average for the last fifteen years.

Was Pat Cardinal the PD there when Rob Christie was there?  If so, this is all starting to make sense.
