"The Wonderful World Of Mike McCoy" AM 600 started off in 1923 from an electrical store in Burnaby, BC. A matter of fact at the corner of Rumble St. & Hume with a power of ten watts. The station has gone through several call signs over the years. CFXC, CJOR, CHRX-FM (CHRX now, Energy radio 98 Fort St. John BC) & CKBD. CKBD 600 AM will go silent shortly (Bob Saye is coming up on Air-Checker) CRTC approved an FM flip in May 2008. New call signs will be CKPK-FM Adult Album Alternative AT 100.5 FM . Mike McCoy began his career in Penticton. Mike was one of the most popular evening jocks on CKLG "Love Lines" ran at 10:00 nightly. McCoy was able to connect with his audience tucking them into bed each night. His run on CKLG was 5 years then a short stint at CJAZ -FM for 1 year. He was off to afternoon drive at CHRX. I had the privlege of sitting in on a few shifts with Mike McCoy at the old CKLG building on Richards. A real talented jock who's wise cracks were some of the best I have ever heard. From 1993 this is Mike McCoy on CHRX Vancouver. Audio supplied by Air-Checker insiders. Produced by RM. Login to listen.
