That would make sense. Rob & Audie back together? That would be BIG. Rob has never seen more success than his CHED/Power days. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Although that would be a pricey one. That could probably get the same job accomplished without Rob.
If this is true, Audie will be reunited with former Power PD, Pat Cardinal.
I can't believe they wouldn't have him signed to a non-compete deal.
Yeah, that's a huge mistake on the part of Corus. Joe is a pretty solid station top to bottom with talent, but this can do nothing but hurt...particularly if he heads over to Capital FM.
Who's side kick is he going to be? Could work out, depending on where he goes. He's earned himself a quality reputation as a capable right hand man. Joe's loss. Who will replace him? Let the debate begin....
That may be the reason for him leaving. He's been a sidekick for what 20 some years? He's got lots of talent and he's as likable as they get. Super nice guy from the times I met him years ago. He'd be great with Capital. You see a lot of Newcap bashing on here, hope he gets it in writing where ever he's going.
Who says Audie would have to be a sidekick to anybody?
It wasn't meant as any kind of disrespect, but c'mon... It's always been "? and Audi"
Ed McMahon was a successful, well respected guy, and he was always known as a sidekick, there's nothing wrong with it. As far as Edmonton radio goes, he's a capable right hand man.
Audie is solid on his own, but he is a star when paired with a lead. He has flown solo before and just isn't as strong on his own. He needs the straight man role next to him.
He is an expert at those little behind the scenes things that make a show great. The work of the traditional lead role gets in the way.
Worst thing they could do is to pair Audie with some nobody news person and give them a mandate to take over the market. Audie can take a nobody (to the Edmonton market) that is placed in the lead position and make a show (Gary James, Boyd Leader). To be the lead and make a show? Yet to be proven.
He's true talent and a nice guy. He'll do well where ever he lands. Drive thru at Arby's would be a better gig than having to play second fiddle to someone like Rube-arb Jones every day. Life is too short.
