1) CKMX "pull the pin"??!! I'm sure Astral is stoked about a heavily automated AM classic country station pulling in a 3.1 share. It's the AM band!! Not much more you can do with it! I wonder what their overhead is versus their profit?
2) Any good CHR programmer knows that the movie never really "ends" and that CHR is cyclical. The CHR's that know this best are Z100, KIIS, Kiss Dallas, Kiss Boston, etc. Those stations have all stuck it out through some musically horrible years and today they all dominate their markets. Imagine where stations like Power 92 & 107 would be had they weathered the storm, refreshed their talent, imaging, etc? What about Z95 had they not thrown in the towel so early to The Beat?? Canadian broadcasters have been too impatient with the format here and some stations continue to suffer from pulling the pin far too early like 107 in Calgary and 95 Vancouver.
Yeah, exactly. Power 107 did it first in Calgary ...with resounding success. Then -- a change of format!!?? KIK has been a longstanding example of why you don't change your format like you change your underwear.
