Wednesday morning, Jeff and crew got yanked from the air at about 9:15 am after their "Can a beaver do this?" segment went too far.  Today's task....buying heroin!

It's an on-air promo. I'm sure they didn't actually get "yanked" off the air and "pulled" into the PD's office.

If it really was over the line, they wouldn't have been on the air this morning.

If The Kid Carson Show can get away with "Let Nira Give You A Hummer", the Jeff O'Neil game is mere childsplay.

Kid had this sex therapist dude on two Fridays ago (just before 10AM) for a rather candid talk about the nutritional value of male sperm ... you know, so the ladies know how long to hit the tread mill after a rather exciting night at Republic.

It was pretty funny, I must admit, the guest was hilarious, my girl laughed out loud more than once in the car... but it was not family radio, that's for sure.

I'm pretty tired of the "morning show gets pulled of the air" routine.  They've gone to that well so many times it's just not believable anymore.   I also wonder if Jeff & company are  just a little too outside the demo to keep trying the immature hijinx.  

A good buddy of mine living in Vancouver called me Wednesday afternoon all excited and asked if i had any "inside info" on this.  I told him it was the first i'd heard of it, but it sure sounded like one of O'Neils' pre-planned stunts.  "i dunno, man" he replied "it sounded really real, like it was actually happening!"

If this friend of mine, who is the CFOX demo personified, was intriqued enough to place a long-distance call to his radio chum, and convinced enough to argue its validity... then maybe there is still some value in these "stupid stunts".  

I think that it is just a stunt to get people talking. I listen to the fox but I don't really care for the on air staff that much so it doesnt matter who is on

Neil Morrison is the man.  It took me some time to gel on his style, but I like.  Danger gets it done and if Scott Allan didn't have such weird mechanics (which I think must be a programming structure that he must follow) his show would rip too.

If by "The Man" you mean "The man who sends my Starbucks cup flying onto my passenger seat as I scramble to hit any preset button on my radio to avoid listening to more than two of his fragmented sentences", then yes, he is the man.
