Red Robinson had this to say in TV Week:

Former radio talk show host, the controversial Ed Murphy has passed away after a long struggle with cancer. Ed enjoyed a career in broadcasting with CFRB Toronto, CKWX Vancouver, where he hosted Reaction Line and The Investigators on CKNW, and then revived his former Reaction Line show on CJOR (now 600 AM). For years he owned Murphy’s Pub on Seymour Street in Vancouver.
