Chris Sorensen with the Toronto Star is reporting that the iPhone debut could occur in June with the release of other touch-screen-type devices.  No one is talking officially of course, but the move makes sense.  Rogers also plans to offer the new Novatel Wireless high-speed data aircard at that time.  Perhaps new data plans will follow?

Might be too late for Canada as there continues to be new units introduced by competitors which takes the IPhone hype of last summer away.

Several of my co-workers recently made a trip to the US for business... and came back with iPhones.  Yeah, they work up here, you just have to unlock them first - in some cases they just swapped in their sim card, and they were up and running.  How long until we get rid of the stranglehold the telco's have on the devices?  We should be able to just purchase a phone, then sign up where we want to.  You pay the provider for the network not the phone.

Unless you got the phone at a subsidized price, which is the case the majority of the time. (But not with I-Phones).
