Dear Readers,

The original post appears to have been deleted by the poster and with a reply to the posters question, doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If I recall the question was related to "IF" he/she was to go into the Edmonton market looking for employment. Where, what and who and where can we live etc, etc? please, don't quote me verbatim on that.

Needless to say, this thread has received several hits, so we deceided to leave it open for more input and hope the poster connects solidly to the Edmonton gig!

thanks
Sam

here's the response...

Not sure about what's the general situation radio-wise in Edmonton, but hopefully the following sites will answer some of your questions about Edmonton...

If you want answers about the metro region from Edmontonians themselves, you can post your question in the 'Ask Ed' section.

I have lived in many Canadian cities and the CBC Radio One morning show in Edmonton is very weak> Ron Wilson needs to learn to ask a question, His interview style is abysmal. His questioning style is weak in that he has too much preamble, then hides the question in the midst of all that, and then continues spouting off. His station manager needs to send him to "questioning school".
The CBC Edmonton morning show does not compare to Winnipeg, Vancouver, or Calgary, and lags seriously behind that of Toronto. Ottawa CBC has gone soft recently.
There needs to be a shake up in CBC Radio One morning show. Time to either send Ron Wilson back to school or packing!

Sorry folks...I accidentally deleted the intro to the thread.
I do want some feedback on the  market...those links that were posted earlier have been very helpful and given me some great resources.
More input is always welcome!
Thanks

I think you were asking about what its like working in the city.  While I never worked there, just judging from the outside, one word comes to mind: uncertain.  There's more movement there than in any other market.  Stations are flipping all over the place, talent leaves as quick as it comes.  But from what I've heard from friends who work there it is a great city and listeners are generally pretty loyal.
