Feist is the big winner of the 2008 Junos winning Album of the Year for The Reminder.

Feist bested Avril Lavigne's The Best Damn Thing, Michael Buble's Call Me Irresponsible, Anne Murray's Duets: Friends and Legends and Taking Chances and D'Elles both by Celine Dion.

In the Single of the Year category, Feist's 1234 garnered the honour amidst stiff competition from Lavigne's Girlfriend, Finger Eleven's Paralyzer, Jully Black's soulful Seven Day Fool and Buble's Everything.

Pop Album of the Year went to Feist for her album The Reminder. The recording bested...Duets: Friends &Legends by Anne Murray, Street Gospels by Bedouin Soundclash, Taking Chances by Celine Dion, and Call Me Irresponsible by Michael Buble.

Veteran country-rock band Blue Rodeo was given the nod for Group of the Year. Blue Rodeo were up against a diverse group of nominees that included...Montreal's Arcade Fire, Finger Eleven, Hedley and Kain.

Crooner Michael Buble won the JUNO Fan Choice Award, besting Canadian punk-queen Avril Lavigne, pop superstar Celine Dion, French-Canadian singer-songwriter Claude Dubois and Victoria-born pop siren Nelly Furtado.

While the night honoured Canada's major stars, it also left some room for those on the rise. New Group of the Year honours went to Wintersleep, as the rising stars overtook burdgeoning talent that included Dragonette, Faber Drive, illScarlett and State of Shock.

Handed out in the heart of Canadian cowboy country, the Country Recording of the Year went to Paul Brandt's Risk. The country singer beat out contemporaries such as Aaron Lines, Gord Bramford, Johnny Reid, and Shane Yellowbird.

Rock group Triumph was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame during the broadcast. The Canadian power-rock trio were popular through the 1970s and 80s.

Live performances included Juno nominees Avril Lavigne, Feist, Finger Eleven, Hedley, Jully Black, Measha Brueggergosman and Michael Buble. Fellow nominee Anne Murray will appear in special duet performances with Jann Arden and Sarah Brightman.
