Giving the first star to Trevor seems too much like charity. It reminds me of Lui's invisible touchdown in his last game at the dome. Linden's place in the team's history and fans' hearts doesn't need a sentimental faux-validation like that. I thought it embarassing.
agreed the 1st star going to Trevor was abit cheesy, but was worth hearing Ashbridge saying one last time "Trevorrrrrrr Linden".
NOW, with Linden closing the door on his 20-year career, what sort of role do you see for him in the Canucks organization. Do they go the "goodwill ambassador" route like many teams have done with their marquee player. Or should the Canucks latch on to his leadership qualities and offer him some sort of coaching role? ORRRR, if you're Pat Quinn, do you woo Linden to get involved in the Vancouver Giants organization? Some food for thought.
I think Linden goes into Real Estate Development first. The Ted Saskin debacle may make him want to stay out of the hockey business for a few years. I also think he is too proud to just be some sort of gladhander/figurehead.

you may be right there. i gleaned the following from wikipedia.com:
"Trevor has indicated that after his playing career is finished, he would like to become more involved in real estate. In addition to the condo development being constructed with his brother, Trevor has property in Whistler, land in Montana, and two homes around Vancouver."
Either real estate, or broadcasting. I could see him joining his 94 team-mates McLean and Ronning on the pay-per-view broadcasts. Maybe he could be the colour guy when Larsheid retires!

I hope Larsheid retires very soon. Dude is horrid to listen to.
Linden is a player's union rep, so his role with the team may have that taken into consideration.
TommyD hell of a thought. Lets hope Trevor wore a different jersey for each period. His father looked proud I must say. If I can take it one step further to any morning personality to start the appeal this week. Morning drive radio or 1040 should suggest what TommyD is suggesting. I think this would be a gutsy move by morning drive radio to make this happen. Not to mention free radio on TV.
I have to admit, I was never the biggest Linden fan. But I liked what happened on Saturday. I thought what Jerome Iginla was about the classiest thing I have ever seen.
As far as the First Star thing..what I liked about it ,was it showed the power Jim Hughson now has. He called for it and he got it.
If Nancy Lee was still involved with the CBC there was every chance that the time spent on Linden would have been replaced with a tribute to Cassie Campbell
