I know Paddyboy probably won't care about this post, but has anyone noticed the annoying swooshing sound they're playing between the headlines at the top and bottom of the hour?  I know Karen Parsons and others from 660 occasionally come to have peek around here; Karen: Kill the swoosh, you don't need it!

C'mon, it's showbiz!

I first noticed that on 680.  The reporters don't even say their names in the headlines anymore, just a quick one-line tease and then it's on to the next thing.  I think it sounds great.  I haven't listened to 660 in a while so I don't know if they're pulling it off as well as the Mother Ship but I think it sounds pretty slick.

I tuned in a while ago when I read here that John Clark was on board.
The news director was on the morning shift as usual and was doing a story about the two Brians from the 88 Olympics, in town for a film.
She called the old 1988 rivalry the battle of the BRAINS!!!!!!!!  

I just chuckled and changed the station...that's just pathetic. And 660News will deliver you a similar gaff just by listening for 5 minutes.

There is such great potential there but 60% of the staff have no idea what they are talking about and if they lose their place, they are completely lost.
There ARE a few real pro's on staff but they are usually teamed with an idiot, which forces me to tune out.

Let's get serious here. Research has demonstrated the "swooshy-thingy" generates huge numbers. And no staffers need to be paid!
