First morning of the new show on CTV. Some minor timing issues but I'll have to give it a few days. What does everyone think?

The Edmonton show was a bit rocky - some timing errors going to and from network, the ticker not appearing consistently ie) it appears right before AND durring commercial breaks or not appearing during the local segments, some graphics errors, and the same stories were played over and over... but it's a nice attempt. However they should give the Edmonton segments a separate news and weather anchor because it looked like she was doing too many things at once. |

I think the hair, makeup and clothes..set, lighitng and graphics are wayyy better than global but mijung doesn't seem like a morning person....neither does lynn but at least there are two on global to liven things up. rena's hair and makeup and clothes are better on canada am but everything was repeated over and over again. |

Had to watch a bit this morning (snow knocked out my global feed) around 7:20am and their timing was brutal. Omar "demolished" an interview right after they had a minute of dead air before throwing to Vancouver. It went downhill from there. I don't know, but it just seems a little disjointed for me. |

Not impressed. Back to Breakfast Television. |

It seems really awkward to watch. The transitions between Mi Jung as local anchor then to national anchor, and the same thing for national weather in to local traffic, just seems bizarre.
If I was Rogers, I'd be using this as an opportunity to re-evaluate BT. Personally, I'd consider taking it and pushing it almost exclusively in to local news wheel - much like the 6a-7a hour on City Toronto, with heavy emphasis on news/weather/traffic. |

I have watched it a bit this week. I like it fine. It is very bright where as Global seems dark.
I know this board has a hate on for Steve, but I like him... so I tend gravitate back to Global. |

Are the Vancouver female voices as lightweight and squeaky as they sound on the radio spots I've heard promoting the show this week? |

i watch for a bit...then I gravitate to global again. more local content. It's too disjointed and repetitive and if something big happened I am not sure CTV would be on it right away. |

Not my cup of tea at all, I just want the news at that time of day, leave the fluff to others! |

Maybe they'll get into the groove after a while, but right now there is a halting, forced delivery that isn't cutting it. It just doesn't have any flow. |

A couple of people on the Edmonton Journal's venting page aren't liking the new format either...
"The new format for Canada AM is disappointing. I don't enjoy the anchors from Vancouver. They have nothing in common with Edmontonians and I can't relate to them."
"CTV has made such a mess of Canada AM, I don't think I'll watch it again." |

It all looks OK ...but so far it lacks personality big time. |
