How the mighty are falling one-by-one.  The Mitchell Report was released yesterday and it named names and made recommendations.  I could go into detail on my thoughts on this.  But instead I'll take a different approach.  Should part of the blame for allowing the steroid story to slip through the cracks lie with the media?  Think of the "all-access pass" many play-by-play guys get.  Did some of our colleagues turn a blind eye to what's being called the "biggest scandal in baseball since the Black Sox"?

Aside from that, anyone surprised by some of the names on the list?  Gregg Zaun?  I wonder how Sportsnet is going to treat Mr. Zaun from this point on......

what a dog's breakfast for Mr. Selig...his own doing though for turning a blind eye to what everyone else knew.  Now it will be interesting to see how Selig handles the various records/recognitions attached to some of the key players.  It's pretty well a given they'll have to relinquish Bonds' home run record and return it to Hank Aaron.  In the next breath they should also relinquish Roger Clemens of his 1998 AND 2001 Cy Young Awards...years when he was juiced up.  Hey if the IOC can strip Marion Jones of her medals 7 years after the fact, why the hell not.
